Solution for yesterday’s problem

Let the family buy 10 liters of milk for $100

Reducing the expenditure by 19% the available budget is $81

At 8% increase of milk price the budget requirement is $108

At $108 the family can buy 10 liters

At $81 the family can buy = (10/108)*81 = 7.5 liters

That means the family should cut the consumption by 25%

Fastrac method

8-n-(8n/100) = -19

solving n = 25%

Today’s problem
