**Solution for yesterday’s problem**

**Conventional method**

Let ‘t’ be the usual time in minutes

By supposition, 30(t+10)=42(t-10)

=>t=60 minutes

In 60 minutes the man travels 30 km. Therefore, in 70 minutes he will travel 35 km which is the distance he covers to reach the destination.

**Other method 1**

(30*10+42*10)/(42-30)=60 minutes (usual time)

**Other method 2**

42-d:d-30::7:5

=>d=35 km

**Today’s problem**

**A man bought two horses for $1440. He sold one at a gain of 15% and the other at a loss of 8% and it was found that each horse fetched him the same amount. Find the cost price of the second horse. (Asked by Preeti)**
