Solution for yesterday’s problem

10% loss on 1/3 rd of 450, that is, 10% of 150 =15

selling price=135

Overall, 20% gain on 450 = 90

On the whole transaction, the selling price = 540

Therefore, selling price on 2/3 rd = 540-135 = 405

gain % on 2/3rd = (405-300)*100/300 = 35%

Today’s problem

A dishonest merchant professes to sell his goods at cost price, but uses a weight of 900 grams for one kg weight. What is his gain percent?
